Welcome to The Old Sunken Vessel

My name is John and I’ve been in the antique trade for over 20 years, either as a collector of Doulton Toby jugs or selling at fairs & markets.

I also spent time as a stall holder at Stumpy Gully Antiques on the Mornington peninsula.

It has been my dream, to one day run my own shop. In 2012 I opened The Old Sunken Vessel in Drouin, Victoria! In February 2018 we moved into our new, bigger, better The Old Sunken Vessel warehouse store in Trafalgar, Gippsland, just a few towns up.

Antiques have been a passion in my family for over fifty years. My uncles & aunts being recognised dealers in & around Birmingham, & at the famous Bullring Market.

I started collecting at the age of 13 when I was given my first Doulton character jug, my passion grew from there.

My aim is to have a location of treasures just waiting for the new owners to come along & find a special piece that will not only bring happiness & fond memories, but will also grow in value.

At The Old Sunken Vessel, we are constantly changing our stock with new & unusual items coming in weekly not only for the serious collector but also the purchaser of that one of a kind item.
